After a quiet week football is back! It was great to see the pitches bustling this weekend!
Reminder – in accordance with FA rules we do not publish the results of teams participating in U7 to U11 games. We celebrate effort, teamwork and participation in the younger teams.
Ambers (U11)
Ambers had a friendly game against Bedford Black’s today. Ambers made a slow start to the game and allowed Bedford to play the ball around. Our keeper Mayzie made some great saves in the first half to keep us in the game. Ambers went close a few times but just couldn’t hit the target. Just towards the end of the first half Natasha managed to get the goal we finally deserved.
Ambers made a much better start to 2nd half, passing the ball around a lot better and creating more goal scoring opportunities with Lily hitting the post, Natasha going close and Scarlott missing the target with a couple of attempts. Natasha scored her 2nd goal of the game with a fine finish from the edge of the box.
Ruby got girl of the match, she played superb and played some super passes to create chances.
Lions (U16) sponsored by Makewell
MK City Lions V Newport Pagnell Athletic
Today was the rematch after a heavy defeat last week. Lions Coaches changed things around hugely and the team were fired up after a poor performance last week.
The opposition found us hard to compete with and could not maintain possession for long periods of the game. 0-0 HT
Second half they tried to adapt to the different style of play but we adapted quicker. We have away a free kick just outside the box which they capitalised upon and scored dropping the ball into the bottom corner. 1-0
Lions came back even stronger forcing errors from the opposition and gaining numerous free kicks. Lions pushed even harder and Daniel Adebolade got the goal back through shear determination. 1-1
That’s how the game ended but the critical thing is the whole team have turned a corner in terms of their focus and teamwork. Fantastic performance from the team and the coaching guys as well.
Great work all and thanks to all the parents for your support.
JAGUARS (U12) SPonsored By MATRIX
MK City FC Jaguars vs Woburn & Wavendon Hurricanes
An early morning kick off saw a determined Jaguars team look to challenge an organised Woburn & Wavendon side. The action was end-to-end with a number of chances for both teams. We saw some great passing play create a number of opportunities for the Jaguars but it was W & W who broke the deadlock, scoring from an intricate passing move on 20 minutes. They then added a 2nd goal 2 minutes later to see them go in 2 goals up at half-time.
An energetic team talk saw the Jaguars start the 2nd half looking to get back into the game but an unfortunate slip saw W&W pounce to score their 3rd of the match just 2 minutes in – the Jaguars would not be disheartened by this. Some good pressing play and creative midfield work saw the Jaguars come close on a number of occasions then – the breakthrough! Exactly half way through the 2nd half a stunning 20 yarder was rifled into the back of the net by Haydon! This served to spur the Jaguars on to create more chances and with a real intensity to score we saw Cherub break through the midfield, take on a defender and strike a well-placed powerful shot into the top right corner!
Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough today as the final whistle came shortly after the 2nd Jaguars goal with the match finishing 3-2 to Woburn & Wavendon.
It was another great match against another good side, played in the best possible way with respect shown by all – exactly as it should be for grassroots football.
Thank you to Woburn & Wavendon Hurricanes for giving us a tough challenge – we wish you all the best for your season and we look forward to playing you again soon.
Lightning (U9) sponsored by Top Diner
MK City Lightning hosted Willen Eagles on a day that was perfect for Football.
Lightning were handed a blow before Kick Off when Captain and Keeper Alfie was again ruled out, which meant we had to rotate Eden, Mason and Finley between the sticks. All three performed superbly and were extremely brave standing up to a powerful Willen team, well done boys.
Lightning goals came from Mason and Theo, both were superb finishes.
Man of the match went to Harry, who was superb in his right wing position covering defence and attack with great determination.
Well done Lightning and thanks to our ref Simon.

Tigers (U7) sponsored by DH Construction
Tigers played at home this week against Newport Pagnell Lions. It was a tough game against a strong Newport Pagnell side. Some early goals from Lions put the pressure on the Tigers. The team kept it together putting a great performance in, Frankie scoring a great goal.
Fantastic work by Man of the Match Rafi.

SAPPHIRES (U12) SPONSORED BY BQI
Sapphires travelled to Biggleswade looking to extend their winning run to 5 in a row.
Sapphires weathered some early pressure and found it difficult to get going in the first half, however they did manage to go in at half time 1-0 up (Ava Martuccio with a great finish after a through ball from Maisie Burchmore), probably slightly against the run of play.
Second half was a different story with Sapphires controlling the game, Ava added to her first half goal to make it 2-0, then Maisie ran on to a ball from Grace McCormack to finish first time making it 3-0. Shania Ismail ran on to a drop kick from keeper Charlotte Stevens to finish with a great strike from the edge of the box and added another late on, to maintain her personal record of scoring in every game so far this season.
Fantastic battling performance from the whole team especially first half which set us up for a strong second half finish.
Tiger’s Eye (U14) sponsored by WAC agency
Tiger’s Eye struggled to find their flow away to Caddington. The pitch was very muddy which didn’t help. Captain Sophie was the stand in goalkeeper today and made a great penalty save in the first half.
Half time we was 1-0 down. Caitlin and Chyan sent shots slightly wide in the second half and the game ended up 3-0 to Caddington.
Some things to work in in training and hopefully back to winning ways next week.
Parents player Sophie
Managers player Chyan
Oppositions player Kath

Opals (U13) sponsored by Top Diner
Opals played a good game and deserved at least a point but ended MK Opals 3 – 4 Flitwick ⚽️👏🏻
Magpies (U14) sponsored by J Cresswell
Magpies beat Shenley Jaguars quite convincingly 18-0.
We had 7 different scorers, and even managed to stealthily drop down to 10, and then 9 players in the second-half, in light of the scoreline.
All substitutes were rotated and got considerable game time.
Saints (U8)
Hats off to all of Saints for their commitment today. It was a tough friendly against a strong side.
Our boys started strong, tried hard and held well against the Rhinos in the first half, but then fatigue unfortunately set in during the second half.
On the plus side, it was good to see our boys trying to keep up the tempo till the final whistle and not giving up.
Player of the match was Tommy, for his superb keeping and wonderful saves 👍👍
We will focus on the learnings from this friendly during our training sessions and be ready for our away match next weekend against Silverstone Racers at Northampton.
Massive thanks to all you parents for turning up to support and your help with putting the goals away after the match. With winter well and truly setting in, it is a challenge to get the little ones up & ready motivated for matches & training sessions and your commitment is massively appreciated.
Mens (North Bucks)
Unfortunately no game this week as the opposition couldn’t get a full team together.
Saturday team awarded the points vs Stewkley Res. Look forward to an away trip to Great Linford First team in the county cup next weekend
Hawks (U16) sponsored by BQI Protection
MK CITY U16 HAWKS have progressed to the next stage of the County Cup.
We beat Aspley Guise U16 with 3 goals to nil. Excellent play from our boys. 2 goals from Emmanuel Adjei and 1 from Taye passing through the midfield and defence to shoot.
Emmanuel‘s second goal which was our third was a sublime free kick.
Man of the match was Imran Mohammed. 🙏
Men’s A Team sponsored by MK Ply Lining and Plan B Brickwork
Lokomotiv Mk 1 Vs 2 MK City ‘A’
Great performance from everyone today. Every player put in 110% and had to adjust game plan early on with Robbie picking up an injury after a couple of minutes and bravely seeing out the rest of the game.
Ross a deserved Man of the Match with his brace of goals.
On to next week now as we try to close the gap on the top 3.
Pearls (U8) sponsored by Mini Monsters
No league fixtures for the Pearls today, so off to Luton Town Ladies for a highly competitive friendly game. Again another end to end match where the Pearls came excruciatingly close to winning. All credit to the Luton Town goalie who had an outstanding performance today!
The team building on their passing practice created some wonderful football to watch, leading to lots off chances!
Congratulations goes to Vega for her player of the match award who excelled in defence. Congratulations also to Ruby on her first goal for the team tapping in from a devilish cross from Miami, who also added to her impressive goal tally for the team. Two goals in two games for Amelia, another great game for her!
