We’re a little short in matches this week. Bad weather has meant that many pitches were out of action.

Emeralds (U18) sponsored by White Star Memories
MK City U18 Emeralds took on Chesham United Ladies in a quarter-final match. A very close game for us today, seeing 2:2 after 90 minutes. After a very tense penalty shootout, the Emeralds WON 5:4 on penalties. The girls are now through to the semi-final of the league cup. Great goals and penalties from both teams, with some cracking saves from our keeper. On to the semi-final in the new year. Well done Emeralds.

MK City Mens North Bucks (Saturday)
City unbeaten in 7 now. Tough game today with Twyford putting in a good performance against us but City managed to find the win.
Twyford 2 – 3 MK City FC

Sapphires (U12) sponsored by BQI protection
Sapphires faced division 1 side Tring in the second round of the league cup.
The first half was a tight affair, both sides played some good football creating the odd chance but no one was able to convert, 0-0 at half-time.
Tring started the second half well and their pressure paid off when they scored a slightly fortuitous goal, a deflected shot looping over the Sapphires goalkeeper Charlotte Stevens, Tring then scored 2 more quick goals from fantastic strikes. Sapphires didn’t give up though, Shania Ismail and Tilly Allen going close on a few occasions. With Sapphires trying to get back in the game, Tring capitalised hitting them on the break to make it 4-0. Tring were also awarded a penalty which Charlotte duly saved.
Shania did manage to get one back but Sapphires couldn’t quite manage to nick another to set up a nervier finish to the game, despite their best efforts.
Final score 4-1 to Tring. A slightly harsh score line in the end, a great performance against a good Tring side and loved the way the girls were still pushing to get back in the game even at 4-0.
