MK City FC Mavericks is our pan-disability youth football programme. We work closely with the FA to fulfil our commitment to ensuring disabled people can engage and participate in football their way.

We believe that disabled people should have the choice to be able to play mainstream football wherever possible. However, we realise that some disabled players may be better provided for in ‘pan-disability’ football either on a temporary or permanent basis.

DO parensts NEED TO STAY?

Yes please, especially whilst young people settle into training.

We prefer parents to stay in case your child needs you for some reason.

We want to maintain a fun environment so we do have a code of conduct for parents.  This can be viewed at https://www.mkcityfc.co.uk/codeofconduct/

DOES MY CHILD NEED ANY SPECIAL KIT?

All children MUST have shin pads to protect their legs.  These do NOT need to be expensive.  You can get a pair for about £5 from Sports Direct.

Alternatively you could get a pair from Amazon for about £8 such as https://amzn.to/32QqJJP

Lot of children don’t like shin guards when they start playing so take a look at the different types e.g. ones with straps vs without straps, ones that go over the heel of the foot, as there may be a style that your child would prefer.

Studded football boots are optional (especially in the first few weeks when you are seeing whether your child likes it) but your child might find it easier to play in them for grip, especially in bad weather.

Again, Sports Direct have Sondico boots for about £16.  Boots MUST be moulded plastic studs.

ANYTHING ELSE?

Please send your child with a named drinks bottle.   The named bit is important as children seem to have very similar water bottles.
